Davis Schottlander & Davis Limited (“Schottlander”) respects your right to privacy. We put in place security measures for your personal data and manage your personal data in accordance with applicable data privacy regulations.
Schottlander is the Data Controller of your personal data. The principles set out in this Privacy Notice apply to all instances in which Schottlander receives your personal data as a Data Controller for the purposes described in this notice. Those purposes are set out in paragraph 2 below.

1. What personal data does Schottlander collect?
We collect personal data such as dental practice or laboratory name, contact name(s) and title(s), delivery and invoice addresses, phone number(s) and e-mail address(es) as well as products and services ordered by you, or in which you have expressed an interest, including invoices and transaction history and records of contacts with you.
2. Why do we need it?
We need the information in order to process products and services ordered by you, inform you of exciting new products and our services, such as courses and seminars, as well as to inform you of special offers and promotions, to check with you whether you are needing to re-order existing products, send out eCPD certificates and for similar reasons. We are also required by the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority (MHRA) to keep records, in line with the current regulations, of purchases of medical devices as well as by other law enforcement and other regulatory and Government bodies.
3. Schottlander Security Measures
Schottlander takes security measures in line with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). As such, Schottlander has security measures in place designed to prevent data loss, to preserve data integrity, and to regulate access to the data. Only authorised Schottlander employees, and authorised employees of our third-party service providers’ processing data on our behalf, have access to your personal data. All Schottlander employees who have access to your personal data are required to adhere to the Schottlander Privacy Notice and all third-party service providers are requested by Schottlander to ensure that any of their employees who have access to your personal data have signed non-disclosure agreements. In addition, contracts are in place with such third-party service providers acting as data processors for Schottlander that have access to your personal data, to ensure that the level of security required is in place, and that your personal data is processed only as instructed by Schottlander.
4. Requirement to opt in to receiving data
The GDPR sets a requirement for us to obtain your opt-in to the use by us of the data provided by you and when doing so to lay out clearly the purposes for which it will be used (see paragraph 2 above). Without this permission we shall only be able to process your orders and we shall not be able to provide you with further information.
5. Legal basis for the processing of your data
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your consent and/or any other applicable legal basis, such as our legitimate interest in engaging in commerce and offering products and services of value to you. Any consent you provide may be withdrawn at any time by following the contact methods listed in paragraph 11.
6. Who Schottlander discloses your personal data to and why
Schottlander will never share your personal data with any third-party business organisation that intends to use it for their own purposes, other than as required by law. We may use other companies and individuals to perform certain functions on our behalf as data processors. Examples include administering email services, running special promotions and provision of data analysis services and credit reference agencies and legal and debt recovery companies, for debt collection and debtor tracing purposes. Such third parties only have access to the personal information needed to perform these functions and may not use or store the information for any other purpose. They will be constrained by the security restraints described in paragraph 3 above.
7. Business transfers
In the event that Schottlander sells or transfers a particular portion of its business assets, consumer information may be one of the business assets transferred as part of the transaction. If substantially all of the assets of Schottlander are acquired, consumer information may be transferred as part of the acquisition.
8. Retention of your personal data
Schottlander will retain your information only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this notice. Schottlander will retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your information to comply with applicable medical device or tax/revenue laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We also retain website log files for internal analysis purposes. These log files are generally retained for a short period of time, except where they are used for website security, to improve website functionality, or we are legally obligated to retain them for longer time periods.

Our website may contain links to other sites. Schottlander is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites. To help ensure the protection of your privacy, we recommend that you review the privacy policy of any site you visit via a link from our website.
10. Opt-out procedures

11. Correcting, updating and removing information
Schottlander supports the individual’s right to protect their privacy. Accordingly, any personal information you provide us will be made available for your review on request. You have a right to request a copy of the personal data that we hold about you.
If at any point you believe the information we hold on you is incorrect or inaccurate you may update, modify or remove this information at any time by contacting us.
If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal information, you can contact our Data Protection Officer who will investigate the matter.

12. Use of cookies
