Changes in dental provision over recent years have resulted in a large growth in the private market.
Laboratories need to take advantage of this growth. This course will look at aspects of the market, based on Stuart Marlow's personal experience of laboratory management and the knowledge gained from the laboratories he has dealt with and visited since joining Schottlander. We will also look at standards and quality of work suitable for the precision market, using Schottlander products and marketing support.

Aims, Objectives & Anticipated Outcomes

By the end of the course, the participants should:
  • Be able to make improved dentures.
  • Be able to correctly trim working models to allow construction of well fitting prosthetics.
  • Understand and know how to make functional anatomically correct record rims.
  • Be able to set denture teeth at a natural emergence angle for correct lip support.
  • Know how to wax up dentures to provide natural looking gum work.
  • Apply and process gingival composites to provide anatomical and natural looking gum work with correct colouration.
  • Be able to trim and polish composite to produce final high polished surface composite.
  • Be given suggestions on how to market and increase their Private Denture work.
